Archaeology is for everyone.
It’s the study of human activity in the past by the recording of material culture left behind as traces in the landscape.
Join us in discovering and celebrating the archaeology of our area.
Our area is remarkably rich in archaeological sites and has had a vibrant religious and royal cultural heritage. The variety of sites include: Neolithic ceremonial wood henges and burial mounds; Bronze and Iron Age hill-forts and soutterains; Roman forts and temporary camps; Pictish square barrows and carved symbol stones; the early medieval inauguration mound at Scone; and the many monasteries in Perth and around the River Tay.
The landscape has been shaped and used by humans for thousands of years. Be part of uncovering new evidence and knowledge on the history of our area and help to protect and promote it for future generations.
