Moredun’s Mysteries – help us dig up the stories

Our  Moredun Top archaeological dig is running again this September and now open for bookings! Last year we found a possible Broch, what will we uncover this year?Digger cropped

Starting on Tuesday 6th September until Saturday 1st October the dig will run Tuesday – Saturday 9am – 5pm. No experience is necessary but you do need to be able to get up to the dig site which is a 45 minute uphill walk. There will be alot of kneeling, bending and lifting through out the days. There are several different ways you can get involved and join in from 2 days to the full 20 days.

The minimum age for the dig is 16 but we will be running the education trenches again this year so there will be opportunities for under 16s to get involved especially on the community dig day on Saturday 17th September.

The Tay Landscape Partnership Area

The Tay Landscape stretches from Newburgh on the south side of the Tay Estuary around to Perth and along the Carse to Dundee.

The project, a £2.6 million initiative is principally funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, will enable locals and visitors to reconnect with the natural, built and cultural heritage of the area.
